Make a list of 5-7 social problems that you believe are the most critical for the United States to address. Write one to two sentences about each social problem, describing the extent of the problem.

Locate an agency or organization that addresses one of the above social problems. You will be using this same agency throughout the course, so be sure that you pick one that is interesting to you and that has enough public information, online or onsite, that you can eventually analyze the entire agency and its program(s). (For example, choosing a street front church that collects and delivers clothing for the poor will probably not have enough information for you to analyze. An established non-profit or government organization, however, may have sufficient information on their Web site). Give an overview of the agency. Include the link if you found it on the Internet. Your instructor will need to approve your choice.
