For this week’s discussion activity, do the following:

1) Select a talk show interview that you are familiar with and provide a URL link to one specific interview aired on this talk show

2) Discuss the speech features that make this talk show genre recognizable (Note: your discussion needs to be thorough, covering the sequence of acts, styles, and jargons used in this talk show)

3) Taking a cultural perspective, what do we expect from a talk show interview in American mainstream culture? Does the talk show (and the participants in this show) you selected match the cultural expectations for a talk show genre in America? If so, in what ways? If not, why.
