Consider this your personal response to Ann Hodgmann’s “No Wonder” essay, where she uses personal research to explore doing something she’d never done before. Your call to adventure? Good writing depends upon research and this research is often a physical activity, a quest. In light of this: go out this week and do something you’ve never done before. (Keep it legal, please.) Stay up and watch the sunrise. Eat fusion sushi. Cook for your family/friend. Visit the pound and look at the animals there. Consider this research, an adventure in discovery.
