Please address 1 question from Topic A and 1 question from Topic B below:

Topic A: Internal Turmoil

  1. Given history in the region [and more recent Netanyahu-Kushner-Trump talks], do you believe a two-state solution is possible? Why or why not?
  2. Is settlement occupation of the West Bank the biggest obstacle in reaching an agreement between the two groups?

Topic B: Outside Intervention

3. The U.S-Israel relationship has been criticized extensively at home and abroad. Do you think the US Israel relationship should be maintained, why or why not?

  1. Would reaching an equitable agreed upon and respected land division be a landmark model for global peace?

I do not think a two-state solution is possible. This argument/war has been going on for 20 years now and there still seems to be no sign of agreement where both parties will be content. Neither the Israelis or the Palestinians want to agree and settle since each one wants to be have all of the power. Israel is in a place where it wouldn’t make sense to them to come to terms and move out of the area they are since they have farms to plant crops and they have the Jordan River and although there is a price to pay for occupation of the land, there is no incentive for them to move. Palestinians want the complete disappearance of the Israel state which makes it nearly impossible for there to ever be peace between these two parties. It is sad to see how much violence this dispute has caused and there seems to be no sign of peace or settlement.

Yes, reaching an equitable agreed upon and respected land division be a landmark model for a global peace. It would show the rest of the world the importance of coming to agreement and being able to talk about what each side wants without the need to go at each other with violence with a result of millions of dead innocent civilians. It makes it hard when Palestine wants complete control and abolishment of the Israel state. There needs to be a middle ground where Palestine can agree to sacrifice some things for others. Other nations, like the U.S, should model peace agreements and set aside for once the economic benefits of agreeing with one party over the other.
