  • Resource: Strategic Planning and HR Planning: Linking the Process & Figure 2.1 in Ch. 2 of Managing Human Resources
  • Choose a company with which you are familiar.
  • Create a presentation to explain the integration of the HR planning process and strategic process to new employees in your company.
  • Analyze two major HR functions in a company. Provide your analysis of these responsibilities to new employees, along with an explanation of how these integrate into the strategic planning process.
  • Prepare a paper of 500 words.
  • Organize your paper like this
  • One paragraph identifying the first major HR function (examples, Employment, Compensation, Benefits, Training, Employee Relations) and describe the responsibilities associated with that function.
  • One paragraph explaining how this function affects and is integrated with the strategic planning process.   Tie your discussion back to at least one or two of the HR Strategies outlined in Figure 2. 1 in Chapter 2 of Managing Human Resources.
  • One paragraph identifying the second major HR function (examples, Employment, Compensation, Benefits, Training, Employee Relations) and describe the responsibilities associated with that function.
  • One paragraph explaining how this function affects and is integrated with the strategic planning process.   Tie your discussion back to at least one or two of the HR Strategies outlined in Figure 2. 1 in Chapter 2 of Managing Human Resources.
  • No introductory or concluding paragraphs are needed.
  • Write your paper in 3rd person.    (See Writing Tips posted in Main Forum on how to write in 3rd person).
  • Cite your references. If you used an electronic source, include the link.  Make sure you use in-text citations in the body of the paper to identify any work that relies upon information from another source. Even if you have re-written researched work in your own words (paraphrased) you must cite your source. See our Free Tips posted in the Main Forum for tips on how to format your references.
